Local ministry background:
In his childhood, instead of fairy tales, Jan listened to Bible stories told by his grandmother. Around the age of 18, he experienced his personal conversion. A tragic event affected his family, which led Jan to change his job. He completed various courses and training programs, and since 2021, he has been fully dedicated to the Healthy Youth ministry.

He offers programs from the series ‘Respect for Life’, the certified programs of the non-profit Christian organization called Ethical and Character Education, which focus on problematic class collectives. These are the HY topics that are mainly devoted to relationships among children in the 1st to 5th grade of elementary school. In the 5th to 9th grades, topics such as addiction, the risks of cyberspace, and risky sexual behavior are added.

Jan’s goal is to, through the HY programs, gently introduce children to the risks and threats they may encounter in life. He wants to help them prepare for such situations so that they have the strength to face them and know how to behave appropriately. As part of the programs, he also teaches children how to work on relationships, how to build a good relationship and maintain it so that it is strong and healthy. Last but not least, he wants to convey to the younger generation the message that life has meaning and the hope that it is worth living, even though life can sometimes be difficult.

More about programs

How he became a HY Worker:
In 2012, Jan and his loved ones were shaken by a tragic event. At that time, he reevaluated his life, left his job, and became interested in working with people. He completed various courses and trainings, and also embarked on psychotherapeutic training.

In 2021, he fully immersed himself in the role of the Healthy Youth worker. As he himself says, “I eventually realized that working with children had been my dream for a long time, but it had just fallen by the wayside.”
