Local ministry background:
Katerina grew up in a Christian family. During her adolescence, she made a conscious decision to walk follow Jesus Christ. Since then, she has been serving in the church and among the youth. She sees the Healthy Youth ministry as the fulfillment of her desire to work with children. She sees this ministry as a non-violent way in which she can guide children to live according to Christian values and to God. And in this she personally sees a deep meaning.

Katerina became the HY worker in autumn 2022. After training and passing the exams in February 2023, she started to offer the HY programs from the Ethical Workshops series to schools in her area. Currently, she has established cooperation with a total of about twenty primary and kindergarten schools. Approximately one third of these contacts already include the HY programs in their schedule on a regular basis each year.

After proper training, in September 2023, Katerina joined the ministry in the online counselling service. The counselling is intended for children and young people, especially those whom the HY workers meet in schools as part of their HY ministry.

How she became a HY Worker:
Katerina has dedicated her entire life to working with children and youth. She strives to lead the HY programs of Ethical Workshops series in a way that touches hearts of children: to offer children a good orientation, solid values, affirmation in good decisions.

Katerina says, “When I learned about the possibility of HY ministry in schools, I perceived it as the fulfilment of my desire to work with children in a way that would non-violently guide them to a life of healthy and solid principles and values. I want to lead children to respect their own and others’ lives, to enjoy life, to be grateful.
I see deep meaning in this work and I love to be involved in it with all my strength.”
