Local ministry background:
The crucial moment in Roman’s journey to Jesus Christ came when he was 15 years old. He heard God’s calling and consciously surrendered his life to God. This conversion changed the direction of Roman’s life. After studying theology, he worked for a long time with children, youth, and families, not only within the church community.

At the beginning of his Healthy Youth ministry, Roman offered programs from the seriesSpiritual Heritage’ to schools. Recently, he has enriched his activities with the topics of other HY programs. He considers the opportunity to visit schools and discuss various important topics with children and young people as a great blessing.

Nowadays, he mainly offers programs from the seriesRespect for Life’, the certified programs of the non-profit Christian organization called Ethical and Character Education, which focus on problematic class collectives. These are the HY topics that are mainly devoted to relationships among children in the 1st to 5th grade of elementary school. In the 5th to 9th grades, topics such as addiction, the risks of cyberspace, and risky sexual behavior are added.

Roman writes about his ministry in schools: “I never imagined how much this ministry would appeal to me and how deep the conversations could be. I believe that this is wherecan be the light and salt. Sharing Christian values naturally, with respect, but also with courage. I long for young people to discover through this ministry that life with God makes sense and that it isrelationship that transforms hearts.”

He follows up his HY ministry in schools with various leisure activities to which he can invite pupils and students from the HY programs: KeX open club for young people aged 13 to 19 and tea rooms for young people with discussions on various life topics.

How he became a HY Worker:
Roman has many years of experience working with children and young people. He believes that HY ministry can have a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people. His goal is to help them find a good direction in life, prevent risky behavior, develop mental resilience, and bring hope. Thanks to the HY programs, children and young people can better understand themselves and establish a value system that will support them in difficult life situations.

Roman says, “Although a few years ago I could not have imagined that I would be so actively involved in schools, today I consider this work as a great blessing. I am encouraged by the positive feedback from pupils and teachers, and I am grateful for every open door that allows me to perform this ministry.”
