The secondary school of Plzen at which I visited Radek’s lecture has extraordinarily excellent approach to shaping of the ethical aspect of the students’ life. It could be seen absolutely everywhere in the teachers’ behaviour and in the extraordinarily helpful approach to the lecturer and to me; we felt as very important persons. Radek is well known at that school already.
The lectures concerned today’s Israel and passed unnoticeably to the topic of holocaust. Together with Radek, Ms. Lišková was engaged in the lecture; she passed unimaginable suffering of concentration camps and death-march due to her Jewish roots. Her narration has strong impact on the students because they face the reality of the evil about which we otherwise only hear or read.
The students followed Radek’s relation of Israel with great interest. Radek can speak about such topics in a very interesting manner, with great knowledge, and changes his lecture flexibly according to the situation in the class. A lot of questions about Israel’s present were asked too.
After the lecture we talked to the teacher who arranges the lectures with great engagement. She described how strongly the students’ interest in the reality changes after having heard the lectures. They come to the library and study books they have neglected so far. It delights us to be allowed to be involved in shaping of this young generation.
