Local ministry background:
Tomas grew up in a congregation of the Moravian church. From an early age, he attended children’s Sunday school, then gradually moved on to youth group and church services, where he learned about God. He dedicated his life to Christ and to serving Him at one of the many youth events. He participates in leading worship and youth meetings at his home church.
Tomas joined the HY ministry team of well-established Christian organization called the Lighthouse in September 2025. Under the guidance of his experienced colleagues, he received thorough training and is now able to support his team in the long-term implementation of the Healthy Youth programs targeting risky behavior in elementary schools throughout the north Bohemia region.
Tomas leads programs in an interactive manner and, in addition to providing important information, instills in children, above all, healthy values and a sense of personal responsibility for their life decisions. He aims to highlight values that are not always popular or obvious in today’s world, such as the importance of family and acceptance of self-worth.
As part of the follow-up activities, Tomas serves as a co-organizer and leader of a youth club at the local church. The goal of these gatherings is to spend time together actively, organize interesting activities, build strong and healthy relationships, talk about life, good values, and a healthy direction, and naturally point the young generation toward Christ.

How he became a HY Worker:
Since childhood, Tomas has actively participated in regular meetings and special events for children and youth, and over time he progressed from being a participant to an assistant, co-organizer, and leader. Working with children and youth has always been close to his heart. That is one of the reasons why, after graduating from a high school of healthcare, he joined the team at well-established Christian non-profit organization called the Lighthouse.
Tomas’s wish—as well as that of his colleagues—is to encourage pupils and reinforce important life values (self-acceptance, sexual abstinence, the importance of family, etc.) during the Healthy Youth programs.
He writes: “I decided to become a HY worker because I feel called to serve Christ fully—not only within our mission-focused youth ministry, but also in my daily work.”
