Our dream has come true. 75 participants were able to drink from a powerful stream of living water. They will be bringing this living water to young people in schools during the coming school year! Thank God for His blessing. And also thanks to all servants and motivated participants. In the last years, the conference came to be called “a lecturers’ spa” and we, organizers, always return home very refreshed as well.
A total of 75 people from the Czech Republic and Slovakia arrived to the three-day lecturers’ conference on September 11-13th. This year, we reached a record number of participants. We cannot but wonder at this mercy which God gave to our country: having this absolutely unique program of Christian work at schools. During the years, the conference has become a popular place where churches and various organizations send their lecturers.
A great number of lecturers posed a challenge: many did not know each other and in the initial part of the program we thus focused on introducing the individual participants among themselves. We divided the participants into discussion and prayer groups and this eventually proved very useful.
During the outdoor activity at the beginning, six groups competed in a game similar to golf. All enthusiastically joined in and accompanied by loud cheering of others they were running over an unmown meadow and throughout a forest in order to bring the unruly balls to the appropriate holes as quickly as possible. At the end, the groups shortly assessed their performance and their cooperation within the team. A final funny fact: the meadow was mown after our event was over. We were thus able to use a unique opportunity for our adventure!
We discussed a number of topics and the participants then talked about them in groups:
- “Stop the movie!” – Patrik and Honza spoke about personal work with students instead of using presentations
- workshops: four lecturers demonstrated a program for schools and the other participants briefly assumed the roles of children in the class
- “Strive for peace in the place where you live” – leaders of local communities are interested in Christian activities
- “The Good News: cooling water for the soul” – talking about powerful experiences from the ministry when God glorified Himself. We heard about teachers who were positively impacted by the lectures’ work and about students who opened their hearts during lessons when the environment suddenly became free
And as usually, at the end the participants prayed for one another in small groups.

The Lecturers’ Conference is organized by International Needs CZ since 2003 for lecturers who are supported as part of the “Healthy Youth program.” It is likewise open to all guests who are interested in this type of work and who are active Christians. Thanks to cooperation with organizations Ethical Education, o.p.s., and Christian Youth Academy, z.s., the conference holds the status of an accredited course under the Lecturers’ Academy since 2016.
