Annual Healthy Youth Workers Conference, 2018: ” It’s a matter of life…”
This year, the 14th year of the Annual Healthy Youth Workers Conference was held in the unbeatably beautiful environment of the Immanuel Conference Center. Again, a perfect care has been provided for all 37 participants.
Although we spent only 2 days together (September 10-11), the program was colourful and inspiring, the personal meetings were friendly and profound and the conversations were sincere and friendly.
The main aim of the Conference was to literally “sharpen our swords”, that is, to gain strength and recharge before the imaginary start of the new school year and before the trainers fully start their normal working year. The theme of this Conference was anticipated: “we are heading to the depth”, and sounded: “It’s a matter of life…”
At the introduction of this Conference took place an outdoor game in the forest, which was aimed at bringing together groups of participants at the fulfilment of their common task. They were fighting for twelve not yet hatched chicks, whose lives literally “trembled in the balance” …
It’s a matter of life of the lecturer! The lecturer serves others, devoting a large part of his time to them. It is therefore important for him protect himself and be able to estimate his possibilities. Jana Coufalova, Ivo Neuvirt and Pavel Kotoucek led us in contemplation of the borders, treacherous focus on performance and the necessity to care for ourselves.
It’s a matter of life of people! Together with Petra Stranska, Petr Kadlec and Mark Vicany, in the second lecture block we discussed the lives of the people we serve to. We realized that lecturers have a unique opportunity to convey important life values to young people. We discussed the methods of encouraging young people, aimed at helping them set correctly the most important points in their lives.
It’s a matter of life of family! In the third block, together with Simon Velkoborsky, Michal Malina and Martin Ruzicka, we focused on the life of the family, i.e. our closest ones, who are intrinsically touched by our lecturing service. We talked about the need to balance family service and life. It is better to have timely adequate and well thought out preventions than solving the incurred, often completely fatal damages.
The conclusion was reserved for personal intercessory prayers in smaller groups, into which the participants randomly divided themselves. As the introduction and inspiration for the time of praying was used the block of personal testimonies from the lecturing activities of several selected participants of this Conference.
From the responses it is obvious, that the participants to their homes and services returned greatly strengthened in their spirit, soul and body. Knowing that other lecturers solve the same problems and face the same challenges brings them relief and strengthens. Sharing together is a great encouragement and inspiration for the participants of this Conference.
From the responses of lecturers:
“Thank you for the encouragement and a nice start to the new school year.”
“I’ve always appreciated the Conference. This year I perceived it as the best. ”
“Thank you for the great organization and the topic that touched everyone.”
“Thank you for the organization! It encouraged me more than I expected. ”
“It was a spiritual and mental bath for me.”
“This year has already matured like wine.”
On a short montage you can look at a few moments from its course:
